More Africa Taxidemry Delivered

Here is a Safari we just finished up for Jim C.  This was Jim's second trip to Africa and he has been a third time since we received this group of trophies.  I hope everyone has a good Memorial Day and remember to honor those who have served and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live under the freedom that they have provided us.  God Bless them!

Nanook: 185 1/8 Desert Bighorn

We just finished up mounting Nanook, the Arizona auction ram from 2012.  Gus A. was the lucky bidder for the tag last year and harvested this awesome ram with Goef Moss and the Littlehorn Outfitters crew.  Nanook officially scores 185 1/8 Boone and Crockett and was aged at 10 years.  Arizona produced some great rams again last year and we will be mounting some of them at Mogollon Taxidermy.  I will post photos of these rams in the coming months as I get them finished.

Nice Houserock Buff

Here is a photo of Randy D> with his Houserock buff from a couple of weeks ago. This is what Randy had to say:

After accumulating 15 bonus points, (unsuccessful attempts) to draw an AZ buffalo tag on the Kaibab plateau, I finally got drawn and was fortunate enough to harvest this nice bull to fill my once in a lifetime limit for AZ. We celebrated Preston's 16th birthday in buffalo camp and it was extra special treat for him to be there. I had underestimated how challenging and difficult buffalo hunting on the Kaibab was. It was definitely allot of work from start to finish, (allot of snow, lots of miles hiking, and allot of animal on the ground) and we were thankful to have the assistance of Russ and Jacob Jacoby, Arlis Miller, Kevin Presmyk, and Dean Dunaway. It was great making new friends and they definitely made for a wonderful experience on this once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm not exactly sure what he scores, but there is a chance he may make the B&C 115 minimum. We'll see where he lands after 60 days. Regardless, I am extremely thankful and happy with this trophy.

Congratulations on a great buffalo Randy!

Couple of 110+ Coues Mounted

Here are a couple of great bucks that I just finished up as well as a nice 3 point.  The hard horned 4X5 came from southern Arizona and the velvet bucks came from central AZ.  The bottom photo is a phenominal 3 point.

Canadian Grizz - small but pretty

Here is a female Canadian Grizzly we just finished up.  She isn't the largest grizzly we have done, but she probably has the prettiest hair of any bear that has come through the shop.  She doesn't have one single rub spot on her anywhere.

Safari Delivered

I just finished delivering some African pieces to customer Ryan C.  Ryan and his wife went to Africa and collectively harvested these species.  We do a fair amount of African work in the shop and have a master woodworker that can build the cabinetry type of bases like the walnut bases the giraffe and sable are mounted on.

Larry's 2013 Mexico Buck

Here are a couple of photos of our friend Larry Smith from Kansas with his coues deer he harvested in Mexico a couple of weeks ago.  Larry was part of our group that went down and he was lucky enough to take this buck which is one of three our group harvested with 4 points plus eyeguards.  Larry had Hunter Haynes with him spotting and also was lucky enough to have Hunter pack his buck out.  Larry's buck gross scores just over 110" and is his first coues deer.

Mexico 2013

Here are a couple of photos of the buck that I harvested in Mexico last week.  I had seen this buck two days before and wasn't able to get close enough for a shot before he went over the mountain.  Two days later he was on the same face with his two does and I was able to close to 350 yards and make a clean kill.  Unfortunately, he took a long tumble down a steep slope and broke off both of his eyeguards.  We knew what his eyeguards were and with that estimate he grosses 111 7/8.  I will post photos in the coming days of some of the great bucks the other guys in our group harvested.

Giant 16A ram

Here is a great ram taken by Jerry H. and guided by Matt Dominy of Kofa Outfitters.  This is the largest ram on record taken from 16A.  Jerry was lucky enough to harvest this 180" giant back in December.  We will post photos of this great ram mounted later this year.

Governor's tag Coues

Here is the buck taken by the governor's tag holder this past January.  I finished the mount up a while back and I am finally getting around to posting it.  This buck was taken with Mossback Arizona and has a gross score of 131 5/8  and nets 120 7/8 typical.  This is one of those unusual bucks that would make all time Boone and  Crockett as either a typical or nontypical.
